MUSIC EVENTS ARE BACK!

Sansar Saves the future of concerts with Virtual Events

Sansar, a social Virtual Reality platform developed by the San Francisco-based firm Linden Lab, and now owned by San Francisco-based firm Wookey Project Corp.. Sansar has believed in the future of events virtually since July 31st 2017 when they launched. They have created a platform that enables user-created 3D spaces where people can create and share interactive social experiences, such as watching videos, and having conversations in VR. Sansar Supports the HTC Vive, the Oculus Rift (and Oculus Quest when connected via link cable and Steam VR) as Virtual Reality Headsets as well as Windows computers, and is free to use with advanced features for paying subscribers.

Sansar brings more than just a game and a good chat. Sansar brings virtual entertainment to the experience and allows users to party, gather, explore and much more together.

On July 3rd & 4th, 2020 Sansar held the Glastonbury’s Lost Horizons event which showcased artist such as Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Jammie Jones and More.

a Two day, Four Stage event breaks through all limitations of the difficulties 2020 has brought all of us. This event included fun interactions as well as portals to travel to worlds and stages. This free event was all in effort to bring the people closer together again during the most socially difficult time ever to socialize while maintaining dedication to bringing our arts and events to a greater level for everyone to enjoy.

Sansar also showcases ambisonics and spatial audio with head-tracking when connected with a headset. When joined on a Windows computer with headphones you will be able to hear the sound sources move around you in a 6DOF manner. With continued development to the platform we believe the spatial audio technology will progress more and more over time. The visual and content development for this platform is obviously reaching the priorities for all competitors and dreamers.

MonsterCat and DJ events

Monstercat introduces Monsercats Call of the Wild Experience in Sansar. This event is one of many DJ capable events that can take place on Sansar. At this event you also have the opportunity to buy merchandise in the experience as well as link out to real world merchandise and products. To hold an event in Sansar is most definitely possible and you can even get connected with a member from their team on their Discord to get help creating an experience of your own! More of these events take place and Sansar will soon be the official new platform for virtual events.

Sansar is developing a one of a kind social platform most-likely way ahead of its time. We believe it is up to us as the immersive community to help support and dive into Sansar and give it a try. Simply because they are developers achieving a goal in our area of interest of immersive content.

  1. Great post! This is so exciting. It might not feel the same as a real event, but this definitely seems like the future of events and a way to save the industry.
