Sennheiser and Continental reveal Immersive Soundscape in-car audio with AMBEO Mobility Technology.
Sennheiser has partnered with automotive technology company Continental to present a speakerless audio system for the vehicle interior at CES 2020. Utilizing their AMBEO 3D audio technology in conjunction with Continental’s Ac2ated Sound System that fills the vehicle interior with lifelike immersive sound that envelops the passengers in an astonishingly detailed and vivid soundscape that allows them to maximize their in-car entertainment. Continental’s innovative concept eliminates conventional speaker technology altogether, enhancing select surfaces within the vehicle to produce sound. Ac2ated Sound enables a reduction of weight and space, allowing it to be the ideal and perfect solution for electric vehicles, where this is a priority.

The in-car sound system allows for full audio individualization for each seat. If the driver needs to make a call, while the passenger desires to keep the concert going, this is achievable through personalized listening zones within the specially designed headrests with integrated high-fidelity transducers. The AMBEO Mobility software analyzes and distils the fundamental components of any stereo music track to play them back immersively through the appropriate loudspeaker or actuator. The software also includes a new feature to enhance and enrich the bass response and reproduces low frequencies with superlative power and punch while effectively limiting noise bleed to the outside of the vehicle.
